Finance, an available area of emphasis in the College of Business, encompassses both the science and art of managing money and investments. The Finance curriculum is divided into three primary areas:

·        Financial Management

·        Financial Markets and Institutions

·        Investments

The importance of finance in today’s economy and the functions and purposes of monetary systems, credit, prices, money markets and financial institutions are stressed throughout the entire program. The study of finance provides students with an understanding of numerous financial theories such as the relation between risk and return, the factors that determine asset value, and strategies for minimizing the risk exposure of both corporations and investors; and thus the ability to make better business decisions.

 Median annual earnings of personal financial advisors: $56,680.
Many financial analysts receive a bonus in addition to their salary, and the bonus can add substantially to their earnings. Usually, the bonus is based on how well their predictions compare to the actual performance of a benchmark investment.
