Visits to UCC are confidential. The staff at UCC abide by the legal and ethical standards of the American Psychological Association. If you want any information to be shared with any person outside UCC you must sign a release of information allowing us to do so. Any records maintained by UCC are not part of your academic or administrative records and thus are not available to anyone outside of UCC.

By State law, there are some exceptions to the limits of confidentiality of which you should be aware. UCC staff may have to disclose information if there is a danger the you may harm yourself or another person, if there is reason to believe that a child is in danger of or is being abused or neglected, if a court-order demands release of information , or if you are involved in a criminal lawsuit.
