Troops To Teachers

Troops to Teachers Logo


Troops to Teachers is a cooperative program of the Department of Education and Department of Defense which provides referral and placement assistance to military personnel interested in teaching as a second career. Financial assistance may be available to help pay for the cost of a teacher certification program or as an incentive to teach in a "high-needs" school.

Requirements for eligibility for referral and placement assistance:

  • The last period of service was honorable
  • Active duty members who separate with a minimum of six years of service as of  January 8, 2002
  • Elementary or Secondary Education: Baccalaureate or advanced degree from an accredited institution at the time of application.
  • Vocational/Technical Education:  Equivalent of one year of college with six years of experience in a vocational or technical field.

$5000 Stipends, $10000 bonus if eligible (call for details)
