About Geodata Lab (SCGL)

The  Southern Colorado Geodata Lab operates 2 labs on campus:
the Cartography Lab and the GIS Lab.  Although the labs are partly used as classrooms, outside of scheduled class times both labs are also available to students for class projects and research.

Lab usage: Students may not to use lab equipment for personal, commercial or non-class related purposes.  Food and beverages are not allowed near the computers.

The GIS Lab
Located in Columbine Hall 229, the GIS Lab is maintained by the Information Technology Department and is used in part for GIS and Image Processing classes.  The lab operates 24 high-end Windows 2000 PCs running ArcInfo 8.1, ArcView 3.2, Idrisi and Adobe Photoshop.  Printers include a B/W Laser Printer and a color HP Plotter.

The GIS Lab is open from 8:00am to 10:00pm (Mon to Fri) and 10:00am to 6:00 Saturday. Closed Sunday.

The Cartography Lab
Located in Columbine Hall 329, the Cart Lab is maintained by the Southern Colorado Geodata Lab and is used in part for Cartography classes. 

- 29 PCs running ArcGIS (ArcInfo) 8x and 9x, ArcView 3.3, ArcIMS 4.0 and Freehand
- 1 3'x 4' digitizer tablets 
- 3 CD burners
- 1 network color printer
- 1 large format color plotter
- 1 Trimble GPS Datalogger
- 4 handheld Brunton Multi-Navigator Systems

Access to the Cart Lab is restricted by a lock combination.
