EL PASO COUNTY NATURAL HAZARDS CLEARINGHOUSE maprule.gif (3524 bytes)

Welcome to our ArcIMS 3.1 ® Map Server This site was developed by the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.  We wish to thank John Himmelreich, geologist at John Himmelreich and Associates, for much of the information he contributed to our effort.

MAP INFORMATION
The map featured on this Web site shows different natural hazards in El Paso County, Colorado.  Those hazards layers were collected from several paper and digital sources and integrated into a single map of El Paso County.  The map is interactive, which means that you can zoom, pan and select one or more hazards from the legend to help you identify a specific part of the county. The more you zoom-in, the more features appear, such as streets and creeks.

This site is still under construction.  Future additions to the map and Web site will include:
1. Shaded Relief Map, Wildfire Hazard.
2. Street finding tool.
3. Comprehensive hazard mitigation information - or what you can do to avoid, remediate, and compensate a natural hazard on your property.
