Rick Wunderli, European History
This photo shows Rick deep in thought, not an unusual pose
for the resident scholar of medieval history, the Renaissance
and Reformation, the British Isles, and the history and lore
of gardening. Professor Wunderli has also made his name as a
deep sea diver, purveyor of exotic cuisine, and upstanding
opera enthusiast. His publications include
London Church Courts and Society on the Eve of the Reformation,
a Speculum Anniversary Monograph published in 1981. More recently,
Rick's experimental history Peasant Fires: The Drummer of
Niklashausen was published was Indiana University Press
in 1992. Professor Wunderli's Ph.D. was from the University
of California at Berkeley in 1975, where he studied with Robert
Brentano.
In his "hippie" days, Rick Wunderli took to wearing big hats and spending time with recent immigrants of questionable character.Were the 1960s really that long ago?
