INSTRUMENTS

The Defense Style Questionnaire (DSQ)

A self-report measure consisting of 88 items.

It is designed to measure behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs that are reflective of 24 defense mechanisms.

It has four categories: Maladaptive, Image-distorting, Self-sacrificing, and Adaptive.

The Coolidge Axis II Inventory (CATI)

A self-report measure consisting of 225 items.

It is designed to measure the 10 personality disorders that meet the DSM-IV criteria, one personality disorder from Apendix B of the DSM-IV, and two personality disorders form Apendix A of the DSM-III-R

The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS)
A self-report measure consisting of 10 items.

It is designed to assess "the degree to which situations in one's life are appraised as stressful (Cohen et al., 1983, p385)."
