Setting Search Preferences in Google Scholar

*UCCS students, faculty and staff may be able to access some of the full-text periodical literature in subscribed databases
at Kraemer Family Library through the Google Scholar interface. To take advantage of this feature you must set up a
Scholar Preference. The instructions are below.
For more exact and comprehensive searching, it is best to conduct your
research through the databases themselves.

  1. On the opening screen of Google Scholar select the link for Scholar Preferences.
  2. Click the box that says "open search results in a new browser window". 
  3. In the search box type: University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.  
  4. Click on Find Library 
  5. Click on Save preferences

If you are using Google Scholar from home to access resources subscribed to by Kraemer Family Library, you must be connected to the UCCS University Network. Instructions for Access to Library Databases from Home

Setting Scirus Search Preferences

When searching Scirus you can directly connect to the library's electronic resources for access to articles. Follow the instructions for setting the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs as a Library Partner in Scirus' Search Preferences.

  1. Go to Scirus Search Preferences
  2. Change the Library Partners Links from "Disabled" to "Enabled"
  3. Select the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs from the drop down list
  4. Click on save preferences

After saving the search preferences, you will see the Search UCCS icon appear by some of the search results. Click on the Search UCCS icon to search the library's electronic resources for that particular article. If you are searching Scirus off campus, you must connect to the Library VPN to access library resources.
