Mission
The Pre-Collegiate Development Program (PCDP) at
the University of Colorado is a system-wide, institutionally
funded academic program for targeted middle and high school
students. It is designed to motivate and prepare first
generation and underrepresented students in pursuit of their
higher education goals. PCDP is structured to ensure that
students are academically prepared to enroll and be successful
at the University of Colorado or any postsecondary institution. |

Criteria for
Selection
- Attend a target middle school or high school
- Be a
first-generation college student (neither parents has
received a 4-year college degree)
- Have a minimum 2.5
grade point average (for high school students)
- Have the
following grade point average (for middle school students):
2.25 for 7th or 2.5 for 8th grade
- Be a member of an underrepresented group in higher
education
- Meet one or more of following requirements:
Be a member of a one-parent
family
Be the eldest child in the
family
Have the desire to continue in
education beyond high school
