TEAM ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICIANS Richard
E. Stockelman, M.D.
Dr. Stockelman graduated from the
Wright State University School of Medicine in 1984 and completed both his
Internship and Residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Stockelman served as an Orthopaedic Surgeon
with the United States Air Force and has been with CSOG since 1993.
Christopher
K. Jones, M.D.
Dr. Chris Jones
is originally from Houston, Texas and received his undergraduate degree at Wake
Forest University in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
After completing medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, he returned
to North Carolina to complete his Orthopaedic Residency at Duke
University. Following completion of the
residency, he received an additional year of
training as a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellow at Mississippi Sports
Medicine and Orthopaedic Center under the direction of one of the world's
premier shoulder and elbow arthroscopist, Buddy Savoie.
At Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group, Dr.
Jones will be practicing general orthopaedics with a special emphasis on both
traumatic and degenerative problems of the shoulder and elbow. This encompasses
advanced arthroscopic techniques, open surgery and joint replacement.

Erik W. Ellis, M.D.
Dr. Erik Ellis trained in orthopaedic
surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After finishing this
residency, Dr. Ellis completed an additional year of specialized training at the
Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, one of the most prestigious sports medicine
fellowships in the country. He was afforded the opportunity to work side-by-side
with Dr. Frank Jobe, the originator of the "Tommy John Procedure" for
reconstructing the elbow of competitive baseball pitchers. Dr. Ellis has also
worked with numerous professional and collegiate athletes both on and off the
field. He has participated in the medical care of the Los Angeles Lakers,
Dodgers, Kings; Anaheim Angels, Mighty Ducks; as well as the St. Louis
Cardinals, Blues, and Rams. At the Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group, Dr. Ellis
specializes in Sports Medicine and surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Derek
B. Purcell, M.D.
Dr. Purcell grew up in Gallatin, Tennessee and
graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a degree in
Microbiology. He received his medical degree from The University of Virginia,
and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the Washington University Department
of Orthopaedic Surgery in St. Louis, Missouri. He remained at Washington
University for his Sports Medicine Fellowship where he worked with collegiate
and professional athletes both on and off the field. During his Residency and
Fellowship, he participated in the care of the St. Louis Rams, Blues, and
Cardinals, as well as Washington University's collegiate athletes. His specialty
training includes athletic injuries and surgery of the knee, shoulder, and
elbow.

Colorado Sports and Spine Centers, part of Centura Health Rehabilitation, is the
first and most comprehensive rehabilitation network in southern Colorado. It is

ANCILLARY SERVICES
Ken Gavin - Director

Ken is a Certified Orthotist and has
directed the Audubon team since 2000.
Ken is currently earning a Master’s
Degree in Business Administration from Colorado State
University. When Ken is away from the office he enjoys
spending time with his family and the outdoors. Skiing,
biking, and fishing are some of his favorite past times.
Dave Draper
Dave is a Certified
Prosthetist/Orthotist and has been a member of the Audubon
team since 2002. He also serves as Co-Director of Audubon
Orthotic & Prosthetic Services.
Dave enjoys the balance he gets from
providing both orthotic and prosthetic care. When time
permits, Dave takes part in the fabrication of devices.
Outside of Audubon O & P, Dave enjoys spending time with his
family and outdoor activities such as riding motorcycles,
snowboarding, and woodworking.
Tim Nelson
Tim is a
Certified Fitter of Orthotics and has been a member of the
Audubon team since 2002.
Tim has attended training courses in
Townsend bracing solutions, Scoliosis Correction, OSHA
compliance, technical programs, material properties, and
prosthetic feet workshops. Tim’s diverse background helps
him to “think outside the box” and improve current orthotic
designs when necessary. Tim strives to provide each patient
with the best service possible. In his free time, Tim enjoys
spending time with his wife and children. He also likes
working on his cars, skiing, rock climbing, and photography.
Mandy Myers

Mandy is a
Certified Prosthetist and joined the Audubon team in
November of 2005.
Mandy has specialized training in
above-knee sockets designs and lower limb post-operative
treatments. Mandy sees each day as a new challenge and
thanks God for opening the door to prosthetic care. In her
free time, Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband,
remodeling their home, restoring her Volkswagen beetle, and
making handmade cards and scrapbooks.
Peter Schunk
Peter
is an Orthotist and has been a member of the Audubon team
since September of 2005.
In his spare time, Pete enjoys
spending time with his wife and extended family.
Woodworking, exercising, and taking care of his pet turtles
are some of his past times.
Jason Alford
Jason is a
full-time lab technician and has been a member of the
Audubon team since 2003.
Jason’s six years of experience in the
orthotic and prosthetic industry brings a vast knowledge of
fabrication techniques to the Audubon team. Jason takes
pride in all of the devices he fabricates. In his spare
time, Jason enjoys hiking with his wife, snow skiing, fly
fishing, and backpacking.
