LIN FIFE is a tenured Professor of Visual Art, teaching in all areas of fibers/textiles, papermaking and artists’ books, as well as foundations courses and Professional Seminar for majors. Professor Fife also offers travel/study courses to New York and New Mexico. And the Arts of Indigenous Cultures class, with the Art History curriculum.

Professor Fife is known for her creative work in handmade paper and mixed-media installations, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are included in two books on contemporary papermaking. Her work is in several private and corporate collections, including Levi-Strauss and Co., The Mirage Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas and the German Consulate in Los Angeles.

A native of Colorado, Lin Fife has travel extensively in the U.S., Mexico, Peru, Indonesia, Thailand, Greece, Turkey, and especially in Australia. She is the recipient of many grants for her research and collection of Aboriginal art.

Service:
University and Community service includes numerous lectures and presentations on Australian Aboriginal art and culture to public schools and to educational/service organizations, such as Curiosity Unlimited and Elderhostel, and a public lecture on Aboriginal Women’s art at Colorado Spring Fine Arts Center as part of The Politics of Gender Series. Other community service activities are work for the Democratic Party of El Paso County, and collection of children’s clothing to be sent to the Sioux and Navajo reservations.
