Create Wordpress Image Slider

Go to the Wordpress dashboard and navigate to the Smart Slider tab

Press the green add new project button. A new window will open up select "Create a New Project"

This will bring you to a new page with project type. You want the settings to be the following

Project Type: Slider

Slider Type: Simple

Name: Example Name of News Story for ease of search

Width: 1000px

Height: 600px

Layout: Boxed

To add photos, press on the "Add Slide" button

This will dropdown and show options. Click on the "Image" button. 

This will open up the media library tab. Click on the selected photos to add them. When a photo is selected it will have a white or blue check box in the upper right corner. Once your images are selected, press the blue select button in the bottom right corner. This will add each image as a slide.

Alt text is important accessibility on our sites. To add it, hover over an image and press the edit button. Once pressed this will bring you to a new page. 

To add alt text, press on the content button of the floating sidebar. Write your alt text underneath description, then press save in the top right corner. When you are done press the back button in the upper right corner to go back to the slider.

Once your image slider is done, return to your news story to add it. To add it, press the plus button on the story or on the left side to add a new block. Search for Smart Slider 3

Then once the block is added press select slider. This will bring up all of the sliders on site.

Select your image slider and press insert. It will now show in the news article and you are done.
